Register with the Alberta Used Oil Management Association (AUOMA)

If you are a company that sells or imports lubricating oil (e.g., automotive oil), oil filters, or oil containers into the Alberta market then you are a first-seller of lubricating oil materials and you are required, by law, to register with AUOMA.

Alberta regulations also require first-sellers to remit an Environmental Handling Charge (EHC) to AUOMA on all lubricating oil, oil filters, and oil containers they sell or import into Alberta’s market.

Voting Members of AUOMA

In addition to a regulated requirement to register with AUOMA, Alberta’s first-sellers had the option to join AUOMA as a voting Member.

Please note, because the used oil materials recycling program is transferring to Alberta Recycling on October 1, 2018, no new membership applications are being accepted.

AUOMA has approximately 240 registered first-sellers and approximately 170 voting Members.
